Drinking or preparing food with unclean surface water can lead to some diarrheal diseases and cholera and typhoid. diarrheal disease is responsible for million deaths a year worldwide (mostly in developing countries). It is mostly due to to unsafe water supply, sanitation and hygiene, and is mostly concentrated in children in developing countries.

Installing tube wells has helped reduce the incidence of water borne diseases as it sources groundwater which has been naturally filtered. However, some people still have difficulty getting access to these wells.
Zaytun Welfare Trust is committed to installing wells wherever we see a need and when we have the funds.
